HOW TO DECREASE THE FERAL CAT POPULATION AND HELP SAVE WILD BIRDS


What is SPAY and NEUTER and why is it important?!

There is an increase of unwanted pets which creates a problem, and here’s why: If an un-neutered male cat and an un-spayed female cat have a litter of kittens, and then those kittens have kittens (two litters per year ~ and 2.8 surviving kittens per litter); IN JUST NINE YEARS, THOSE TWO CATS WILL CREATE 11 MILLION KITTENS!!
In milder climates, (San Joaquin Valley, Ca., for instance), we find an even higher survival rate which means more litters of kittens per adult cat annually ~ and that means even MORE unwanted pets that are being born!
Feral (wild) cats, for example, are more likely to pick up diseases or become more accident-prone, so get in touch with ANIMAL CENTERS that educate on low-cost spay and neuter procedures. *For more information, contact:

WE ALSO NEED TO ENCOURAGE EVERY ANIMAL FACILITY TO PRINT THE ABOVE INFO. IN VARIOUS LANGUAGES SO EVERYONE IN ALL ETHNIC GROUPS CAN UNDERSTAND.

"HAVE-A-HEART" cages........
For feral cats (wild) and other animals, “Have-a-Heart” cages can be purchased at hardware stores and are EZ to assemble. They’re very SAFE for the animal and not considered traps, which can cause them great harm. Once the cat, possum, squirrel, or another animal has been caught, an option is to call your local SPCA for FREE pick-up. They will only take animals that are caught in the “Have-a-Heart” cages. Boxes, etc. are not acceptable.

Roaming Cats are indeed an increasing problem! Responsible cat owners will keep them inside their home or at least restrict them to their own yard. It's that ole' simple Golden Rule of being thoughtful and considerate to others, so that someone else doesn't have to clean up your cat's poop or wash where they have sprayed.
