Facts about
Dove Release

* FYI....HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED.......

WHAT HAPPENS TO "WHITE DOVES" (ACTUALLY WHITE HOMING PIGEONS) WHEN RELEASED AT EVENTS such as weddings, birthdays, funerals, graduations, parades, etc.?

The ONLY "doves" that should be released at events are trained white homing pigeons, which belong to the dove family.  These birds (cousins to the smaller doves) are strong, trained fliers and can return home safely in favorable conditions.

When released, they will take to the sky and form a circle, getting their bearings before heading home.  (It's an awesome sight)...BUT when actual doves are released, you'll witness frightened, untrainable birds scatter in all directions.  They WON'T be able to fly home or find food in an unfamiliar environment and will die of starvation or succumb to predators such as hawks.

Doves purchased from flea markets, pet stores, etc. should NEVER be used for release.  Hire the knowledgeable professionals who train the smart, beautiful white homing pigeons, often referred to as "White Rock Doves".  (Training techniques are fascinating).
